Wentworth Slingshot Race on March 7th, is open for registration on our website or by connecting to the following link

https://site3581.goalline.ca/register.php?reg_form_id=38397

Please note that the registration will be closing on Friday night, February 26th.  This is to make sure we have our registration submitted to Wentworth on time on Saturday.  Unfortunately we are not able to accomodate late registrations so please make sure you register early and let us know if you experience any problems so we have time to sort them out.

The Slingshot is an annual event for Martock and Wentworth U8, U10 and U12 athletes who compete in a team based format.  It is a fun event to further introduce athletes to a low key race event and all our MSRC athletes are highly encouraged to particpate.

The cost of the event registration is $80/athlete and this includes a lift ticket as well an event t-shirt.  The fees also include the registration costs required by the event organizer as well as the travel expenses and lift tickets related associated with our MSRC coaching support for the day.

All of our U8 and U10 atheltes with bibs are asked to make sure they wear them on the race day at Wentworth as these will be used by the organizers to track our athletes and limits any sharing of equipment/bibs between clubs.  Any of our U10 extended and U12 athletes who register for the event will be provided with bibs the morning of the event.  The bib colour does not represent any team or grouping for the race day rather the number is specifically allocated to your athlete.  Please do not exchange or trade bibs as it will impact on the results.

RACE SCHEDULE:   8:30 a.m. Athletes should be at hill
9:30 a.m. Inspection/warm up
10:00 a.m. Team race 1 begins
11:30 a.m. Lunch break
12:15 p.m. Inspection/warm up
12:45 p.m. Team Race 2 begins
 3:00 p.m.  Awards Ceremony

MSRC athletes will meet at the base of the hill at 8:30am in ski gear ready to ski.  Please plan your day accordingly.

Anyone who has wentworth season passes and does not need a lift ticket, please contact me timm@cbcl.ca for a discount code.

Families who plan to attend can purchase lift tickets from the ticket window, please tell them you are there for the race and will likely ask racers name.  Lift tickets will be sold at a discounted price of $25/each.

Wentworth is also looking for some volunteers to help with the race on the Sunday.  There is a section in the registration that asks if you are able and willing to help out, please check yes or no accordingly.  Typically each race organzier will ask for 5-10 volunteers from each club to help on race days.  Many hands makes light work.

Finally, in the registration process you will be asked to enter your athletes ACA number, for many folks this is new and you have no idea what that is.  Not to worry!  The ACA number is the designated Alpine Canada number assigned to each athlete, it also confirms to the organizers that your athlete has all the required coverages/insurances in place to participate in events.  This is something that you will use each and every time you registrer your athlete for an away event so you may want to bookmark the site or write the number down somewhere.  The ACA registration is part of the MSRC program fees and the registration is completed on your behalf.  You can search your athletes ACA number on the following website:

https://www.alpinepoints.ca/racerProfile/

Finally, for those who are not particpating, there will be regular training at Martock on Sunday March 7th.

Any questions or concerns please contact timm@cbcl.ca
