MSRC Registration, Fees and Refund Policy
Mission Statement
The Martock Ski Racing Club (MSRC) is a volunteer-based organization that strives to develop, deliver and support quality ski racing programs that encourage participation and excellence so athletes can achieve personal growth and success in a safe environment.
Policy Objectives
One of the best ways to promote alpine ski racing is to ensure it is kept accessible to as many athletes as possible.
The Registration, Fees and Refund Policy helps to ensure:
- all athletes and their families are aware of the registration process, fees and refund approach by MSRC prior to registering athletes for the program, races and camps;
- alpine ski racing is kept as financially accessible as possible for club families;
- MSRC, as a non-profit organization, is kept financially viable and able to support the growth of its athletes; and
- MSRC is able to support the coaches who have made commitments to the club and its athletes.
ACA / Freestyle Canada Fees – Non-refundable annual athlete fee paid to Alpine Canada Alpin.
Annual Program Fee / Registration – Costs to register an athlete in one of the following annual programs offered by MSRC (U10 Alpine Introductory, Developmental and Performance, U12 Alpine Introductory, Developmental and Performance, U14 Alpine Developmental and Performance, U16 Developmental and Performance, U18/U21 Developmental and Performance, National Competitive Card, University Students, Free Style, and Ski Masters). Program fees consist of fixed costs related to the day to day operating expenses of the Club (general maintenance, communication, accounting, banking, training aids, etc), Alpine Canada Dues as well as program specific coaching expenses.
Coaching Expenses - Funding provided to MSRC coaches attending a race event and/or camp to cover the costs for transportation, accommodations, lift tickets and meals.
Coaching Fees – Daily fees provided to MSRC coaches during the annual program and those who attend races and camps.
Event Registration Fees – Cost for MSRC to attend an event. Costs are determined by the hosting alpine race team.
MRSC Admin Cost – Non-refundable MSRC admin fee applied to all registrations (program, race and camp).
On-line Payment System Fee – Non-refundable charge applied to all registrations (program, race and camp) processed using the on-line payment system. This fee is collected by the On-Line payment system provider and is not collected by MSRC.
Processing fee – the total charge for both the MSRC Admin Cost and the On-line Payment System Fee
Program Registration, Fees and Refunds
Annual program fees and any accounts in arrears are due in full at the point of registration for the season. Accounts with outstanding balances will prevent athletes from participating in the program, events, and camps until the account balance is paid in full.
Cancellation Before Any Regular Scheduled On or Off Snow Activities
Program registration can be cancelled at any point prior to the corresponding program activities beginning. A full refund will be provided less the On-Line Payment System Fee.
Cancellation Before First On-Snow Program Day
Program registration cancelled up to 14 calendar days prior to the first on-snow scheduled program day shall be eligible for a pro-rated refund of the program registration. Refunds will be assessed a $50 processing fee. ACA / Freestyle Canada Membership Fees , on-line payment system fees, dryland training related fees and 50% of the program fixed cost fees are non-refundable.
Withdrawal Before End of Second Week On-Snow
After the first on-snow day, a pro-rated refund of the program registration will be applied to any withdrawals prior to the end of the second week of on-snow training. Refunds will be assessed a $50 processing fee. ACA / Freestyle Canada Membership Fees, on-line payment system fees, dryland training related fees and 50% of the program fixed cost fees are non-refundable.
Withdrawal After Second Week of On-Snow
Any withdrawals after the second week of on-snow training, other than injury or serious illness, will be considered non-refundable.
Days Missed
Days missed are not refundable. It is understood the unpredictability of the weather and varying conditions, are part of the sport of alpine skiing. No consideration or refund will be provided due to delays, cancellations or hill closures caused by weather or other special circumstances.
Injury
For athletes that are injured or develop a severe illness during the first half of the race season and are unable to continue with the program, a pro-rated portion of the program fees may be refunded. An appropriate doctor’s certificate may be required to be supplied. Pre-existing medical conditions do not qualify for refunds. Refunds will be assessed a $50 processing fee. ACA / Freestyle Canada Membership Fees are non-refundable.
Refunds
Any fees to be refunded will be done at the end of the program season. The only exception to this is withdrawals from the program before the end of the second week of the season.
